Crossroads
Clarice S Theys
She woke up that morning
With the words of a song lingering
There’s nothing left for me –
Of years that used to be …
And she knew it was time …
She found herself alone
Like so many times before
On the crossroad of her very soul
And she knew, it was time …
Along her journey there were many paths
Detours, shortcuts, dead ends
And now … here on the threshold
She knew,
She just knew which way to go
It’s the road that will set her free
To live again, to search again
With childlike curiosity – a life of reciprocity
And the song she woke up with
now just a distant echo
‘Cause she knew … she knew it all along
